Hidden deep in the heart of the countryside of Jersey at Victoria village in Trinity there is one of the best collections of orchids in the entire world. It is housed in the especially build nursery and exhibition complex which opened in 2001 and run by Erich Young Orchid Foundation.

The Foundation was established in 1958 by Erich Young, a trained scientist and great orchardist who developed one of the best finest collections of orchids in the world. The Foundation has won a number of prestigious international awards and established an uneclipsed world-wide reputation for the premier skills of its breeders.

The exhibition room is beautifully staged showcasing the beauty and weirdness of many sorts of orchids and lush tropical plants of the backdrop.A pathway leads the visitors to walk between and even under the plants completely surrounding the viewer.There is a couple of benches dotted around where visitors can sit and quietly sink into surrounding beauty.

You should go there equipped by the best camera you have because you will undoubtedly get a number of great photographs from your visit. The show room is rather small and the rest of the exhibition are the greenhouses, but there is so much inside this small place – just look carefully.

Despite, it is quite hard to find by car and there is no refreshments on site (except for the vending machine and couple of tables), this place is one of the top locations to visit on Jersey. Also, if you visit it the first place on the day, you would get a lot of time for a refreshment later.
